Want a fun way to give money for your graduate this year? You should totally try these money leis. I think they are way more creative than stashing a little cash in a boring old card, and they don’t really take much time to make. Plus, it will make your cash donation stand out from the crowd. 😉

You’ll Need

60 Crisp $1 bills {wrinkled, worn bills don’t work as well}
Clear tape
Thin ribbon or string

Directions

Fold a dollar bill accordion style. Then, fold the bill in half. Pull the sides out to create a full circle with the dollar bill. Attach the edges to each other with a TINY piece of clear tape.

Slide the ribbon through the center of the circled dollar bill {feed it through the middle where your edges meet}. Repeat the process until you have added all of the dollar bills. Tie the string/ribbon in a knot, and voila, a money lei.

If you’re like me you probably have a hobby or two. But what happens when those hobbies turn into obsessions?

During the winter of 2011 my husband came home with a brochure for a glass greenhouse, completely at random. My husband doesn’t garden (unless you count mowing the lawn) for Pete’s sake, so when he handed me a brochure for a greenhouse, I was a little stunned, to say the least.

My birthday was right around the corner, and I knew if I wanted one, this was the perfect opportunity. After all, the thought of being able to grow citrus and extending my gardening season to year-round totally appealed to this Seattle girl.

Friday Night at the Movies – Stardust

The Girl and I are taking a complete detour from our normal Friday night taste and are going to watch Stardust tonight. It’s about a star {literally from the sky}, who is personified by Claire Danes that falls from the sky into an enchanted world, just beyond “the wall” of a normal English village. The enchanted world leads to an adventure, magic, and…wait for it…yes, love. What can I say, we are looking for a little whimsy in our life {and it doesn’t hurt that it’s FREE on Prime}.
