Costco Shopping Trip $39.82

Well, I finally got my ham. 🙂 I LOVE the Costco spiral hams, don’t you? While I was there I also stocked up on cheese for freezer enchiladas, black beans for tacos and bananas for smoothies. Kind of a boring trip, but expensive.

Zaycon Beef Free

Last week I also picked up 40 pounds of Zaycon beef {I had some Zaycon credit so it was free} and the HH and I make a boatload of freezer meals. Now I’ve got plenty of freezer meals to last me through all those spring sport nights when I’m too tired to cook.

Albertsons $3.56

Cream cheese for $0.88? You bet I grabbed a few {I probably should have bought more}.

Smith Brothers Milk Delivery $11.16

And last but not least, our weekly milk delivery from Smith Brothers. I might cancel this weeks delivery though because for some strange reason, nobody drank any milk over the weekend. Weird.

Blueberry Kale Smoothie

The Girl and I made this smoothie the other day. She LOVED it! It has kale in it so I tried to love it {honestly, I really did give it the old college try}, but I just couldn’t. So what’s the moral of the story? If you don’t hate kale, this smoothie recipe is going to rock your socks off. But if you are a kale hater like me {anyone? anyone?}, you can always leave the kale out and I’m sure it would be awesome!

Ingredients

3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup baby kale
1 tablespoon peanut butter
3/4 cup milk {I used 2%}
1/2 ripe banana
1/2 cup ice cubes
1 tablespoon sweetener, optional {I used agave, but you can use honey, sugar or whatever your little heart desires}

Directions

Throw all ingredients into a blender {I use my Blendtec} and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Easter Scavenger Hunt

I know, I know, you probably are already hunting for eggs, but when my kids were little, we always had to wait for everyone to arrive BEFORE we could actually start hunting. If you are in the same boat, here’s a quick scavenger hunt they can do while they are waiting for the big show:

Basket
Pastel colored ribbon {if you have little ones {or boys, ha!}, you may have to explain to them what pastel means}
Jelly beans
Carrot
Chocolate Bunny
Picture of Easter Bunny {they can draw it or take a picture of Easter decor}
Marshmallow Peeps {everyone gets them, no one likes them}
Plastic Easter Egg
Something yellow
Something green
Something pink
Something purple
A sign of spring {tell them to think: blades of green grass and hopefully not one of your tulips}
A dyed egg
Candy wrapped in foil

There are tons of things you can add to this list if it is nice enough to let the kids outside for a bit. What would you add?
