Well, not a whole lot has changed in the past 4 weeks, but I have a feeling from here on out, we will start to see some big changes in my backyard garden.
For starters, how long do you think it’s going to take me to move the enormous rock pile to the left of the picture?
When I first created our backyard garden I put in a large bed of rocks alongside the mini hill to the left of our raised garden beds. At the time I guess I thought it would help add definition to the backyard, but once the garden started to take shape, I found the rocks to be more of a nuisance more than anything else. Not only an I always tripping over them, but the rocks just look so out of place. Since I don’t need the rocks for drainage, I want to re-purpose them as soon as possible.
Now the question is, what will I do when the rocks are gone? More garden boxes? More bark?
Only time will tell.
Week 3 of 52 – Mavis’ Backyard Garden Plot

This week I am hoping to figure out what I’m going to do about those wooden boards along the chicken run, as well as burn a few stumps in the backyard. As soon as Costco gets some landscape fabric in stock. I plan on laying it down where the stumps are now and creating a new garden space. We’ll see how far I get.
What’s happening in your garden? Still have snow?
Are you getting excited about this years growing season yet?
