One Hundred Dollars a Month

I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

Hello Monday. What a weekend! The next three days are going to be scorchers around here with temps in the 90’s so I think I am going to try and stay inside as much as possible and get some work done. I do need to get outside and pick another round of tomatoes though… They just keep on coming, it’s nuts.

Summer…. It’s almost over. Soak it up people! 😉

  • Clean the floors
  • Make a loaf of zucchini bread {or muffins}
  • Load up the dehydrator with sliced tomatoes

It’s going to be a busy day, just how I like it.

Hello Thursday! Only one more day until Mrs. HB comes to visit!!! I’m so excited and I’m pretty sure Lucy is going to freak out too. The temperature forecast is for 80 degrees during the day and 65 at night. So not to bad. And, she’s from the South anyway, so a little {90%} humidity won’t bother her. 🙂 Friends, they’re the best, aren’t they?
