One Hundred Dollars a Month

I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

Lucy allowed the HH to sit in her chair for a few hours yesterday and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever. At one point they were both snoring away like a bunch of old men with the tv going. HILARIOUS.

Monday. It’s here… and Mrs. HB is coming over {it’s trash day after all} and we’re going to go on a walk. Yee-Haw!

I was thinking about some of the recipes I’ve made this year and this Broccoli Cashew Salad is pretty much the biggest surprise of the year. As far as broccoli goes, I’m pretty neutral about it. Yes, I know it’s good for you but it’s never been up there on my list of favorite things to eat until I made this recipe and now I’m a total convert. PERFECT as a side dish, but even better as a meal during a busy week. It keeps for days in the fridge and once you make it, I’m pretty sure you’ll never think of broccoli the same way again.
