I stumbled on to this new device called The Narrative Clip yesterday while browsing NPR. The device basically clips onto your shirt and snaps a picture every 30 seconds throughout your day. According to the Swedish designer, it allows you to capture the simple moments you would never otherwise get, without ever having to personally stop what you are doing and take a picture.
At the end of the day, The Narrative takes the best of the days photos {by using an app} and gives you a daily slideshow. You get to go through and choose which pictures to share, and which pictures not to share. Opponents say that the camera doesn’t really “capture” anything, because the pictures get covered up with the wearer’s hair, or they end up being continual shots of the inside of an office.
I can totally see both sides of this one. It would be kind of cool if you were on a vacation, but super creepy if used in everyday life. I mean really, what if you forgot to take it off in the bathroom? On one hand, it could make for a pretty interesting picture journal of your life–but on the other hand, it could capture parts of your life that are best forgotten {or at least moved past}.
What do you think? Cool or totally over the top?
