bits and bobs: A random assortment of things; small remaining pieces and things
According to The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird, this is the easiest way to french braid hair. Silly me, I’ve always braided my hair standing up.

But the kid can parallel park like nobody’s business, so I don’t question her methods {parking, braiding hair or otherwise}.

I had no idea awesomness could be bottled.

But it will cost you something fierce.
Mr. HB is trying to talk me into getting the Go Pro Karma Grip. Says it’s the coolest camera ever. He made a video of me and Mrs. HB in her garden talking it up but then when he went to play it back the video wouldn’t upload to his phone. Go figure. I think I’ll stick to my Canon Rebel and the camera on my phone. 😉

Thanks to Carol in New Hampshire I now have 3 new places to visit on my next trip:
- The Portsmouth Athenaeum – A wicked cool 200 year old reading room {the second oldest in the country}
- Harvey’s Bakery and Coffee Shop in Dover, NH
- Sweet Caroline’s Thrift Store in Rye, NH
Locals… The know where you can find the good stuff! Thanks Carol.
And last but not least… Lady Sybil, she’s just about the sweetest bird I’ve ever met.
Have an AWESOME Wednesday everyone,
~Mavis

REI Garage Deal of the Day

Zaycon Foods
Seriously. What’s the deal?

Now, $49.99 for a couch? A total bargain. If there’s no flea’s or anything.
$14.99 for a rustic pig watering can that probably came from Home Goods {for the same price} not a bargain.
$1.99 for a new pirate pinata? Well shiver me timbers… that’s a deal!

P.P.S. Mary from Facebook sent me her awesome Goodwill find and it really just takes the cake. I’m speechless I tell you, just speechless. 😉 WHO IS BUYING used coffee cans? Is there some sort or shortage I don’t know about?
In my opinion, Memorial Day kicks off the season of BBQs and backyard parties. I’m sure there are people having them all year long, but for me, when Memorial weekend rolls around I get the BBQ itch and start skimming through all of my favorite BBQ recipes. I’ve gathered up my favorites so you can get to planning your next shindig. These recipes are great to bring as a sharable dish to a potluck and many are easily portable, so picnics are a snap! Good friends, full bellies and lots of laughter. That’s what I’m looking forward too!
