Cameron the cute Carpenter stopped by for a few hours yesterday to get the ball rolling on the master bathroom remodel. The bathroom had sort of a weird layout {see the before pictures here} with the toilet in the same open area as the tub and shower. We knew when we bought the house we were going to have update the bathroom, but because we will be reselling the house in two years, our budget is pretty small for this project.
Having you here with me, and constantly giving me input and suggestions played a really big part in what we decided for the final layout. Practically everyone said we needed a window in the room for natural light {I wasn’t sold on the idea because of the cost} so I decided to forgo my dream bathtub, and do a tile surround tub against the wall instead. Basically the tub and shower area/layout will be the same as before.
The reviews on the toilet room {or WC as some people like to call it} were mixed. The HH I liked the idea of having the toilet in a separate room and so did Chino the Handyman and Patrick O’Malley the Irish realtor. We talked about maybe just doing a half wall or a half wall with some sort of glass but after seeing a toilet room Chino created in another house, we decided to go with a full wall and door instead for privacy.
While Cameron was here yesterday he also removed the wall with the shower head. Chino decided to push the plumbing inward 4 inches so we could gain it elsewhere in the room.
I have a general idea of how it’s going to turn out, but still, remodeling can be scary sometimes. Luckily there haven’t been any major surprises {unless you count the petrified rat} and I’m thankful for that.
Keep calm and power on… right? I can’t wait to get this over with.
